Plaintiff v Southern Fidelity Property and Casualty

Jose Pete Font and Kristin Yoder (Broward/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) (Property) obtained a voluntary dismissal for Southern Fidelity Property and Casualty. Plaintiffs claimed that a loss as a result of a wind/weather event that took place on October 15, 2013. Supposedly the home’s roof sustained wind damage, which resulted in a water leak affecting (mainly/directly) the kitchen and living room. The total value of the claim was $66,027.37. Considering the Plaintiffs’ examination under oath testimony, developed by Ms. Yoder pre-suit, coupled with the Plaintiffs’ deposition testimony developed by Mr. Font, it became readily apparent to Plaintiff’s counsel that the claim was fraudulent. Before the Plaintiffs’ depositions were concluded, they voluntarily dismiss the suit with prejudice.
