The firm’s Jackson, MS office recently had a case involving a dog bite. Plaintiff’s counsel demanded that the dog be euthanized or kenneled somewhere other than the Insured’s residence.
After some research, the dog could not be sheltered due to his history of biting and the vet would not euthanize a healthy dog, a policy employed by all vets in MS.
Sara Budslick, Esq. reached out to various shelters around the State and finally found one that would shelter a dog with a history of biting. Not only did Sara locate a viable shelter, she got the dog enlisted in the National German Sheppard database which allowed the dog to be vaccinated, sheltered, and trained, all for FREE. Entry into this program all but guaranteed that the dog would be adopted by a German Sheppard experienced owner.
We contacted the insured, they brought the dog to our office and Sara delivered the dog to the shelter. In addition to having a great emotional result by thinking outside the box, Sara was able to avoid additional and protracted litigation, bringing closure for our client, and conserving resources for the insurer. Please join us in “throwing Sara a bone” and congratulating her on a creative and heartfelt
