Ryan Barker was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and his family has deep roots in the area. Although he has lived elsewhere in Florida, he calls the area home again. After graduating from high school, Ryan attended Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida where he double majored in church ministry and communication. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Ryan worked as an Admissions Counselor for Warner recruiting local and international students. Ryan then attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. Prior to civil practice, Ryan was an assistant state attorney for the Honorable Bernie McCabe in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida for almost five years, prosecuting adult felony and misdemeanor crimes. Prior to joining Vernis & Bowling, Ryan practiced insurance defense for two years and represented plaintiffs for over a year.
Ryan made the move back to the defense side as he is passionate about providing competent, honest, consistent, and valuable advice to his clients at all aspects of the case and to offer innovative strategies and solutions to meet each client’s expectations and objectives. Ryan manages and defends cases through every stage of both litigation cases and pre-suit claims. He has vast experience in handling both sides of motor vehicle and trucking accidents and defending construction defect and general liability issues. Ryan currently oversees the PIP department in the Jacksonville office offering quality representation of PIP cases at a low cost to the client.
Ryan resides with his wife and young son in Jacksonville where he enjoys surfing, biking, and spending time with family and friends. He is a member of Eleven22 and strives to live out his beliefs through not only his personal but his professional life as well.
