Amended Order on Constitutionality of Alabama WC Act
On May 8, 2017, Judge Ballard in the Circuit Court for Jefferson County, Alabama, entered an Order finding two provisions of the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Act unconstitutional. Judge rules Alabama workers’ compensation act unconstitutional
A Jefferson County circuit judge struck down Alabama’s Workers’ Compensation Act. Circuit Judge Pat Ballard found two provisions, the $220 a week cap in compensation and the 15 percent cap on attorneys fees, unconstitutional.
