2019 Firm Highlights

• Robert C. Bowling, Managing Partner (Miami, FL) was selected as one of South Florida’s Top Lawyers by the South Florida Legal Guide, January 2019 edition.
• G. Jeffrey Vernis, Managing Partner (North Palm Beach, FL) was selected to the 2019 Florida Super Lawyers list, an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice. Only 5% of attorneys in Florida receive this distinction.
• Ian N. Matthes, Regional Managing Attorney (Atlanta, GA) was selected as one of the Top Lawyers of Georgia for 2018.
• Vernis & Bowling has been selected as the Best Full-Service Law Firm 2019 – Southeast US by US Business News.
• South Florida Business Journal has included Vernis & Bowling in their listing of Top Corporate Philanthropy Firms.
• Vernis & Bowling of the Gulf Coast, P.A. was named a Top Florida Law Firm by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
• Daniel Davis (Miami, FL) was appointed as the Vice Chair of the Clients’ Security Fund section of the Florida Bar.  The Clients’ Security Fund was created by The Florida Bar to help compensate persons who have suffered a loss of money or property due to misappropriation or embezzlement by an attorney.
• Laura Robinson, (Columbia, SC) was selected by Columbia Business Monthly Magazine as a 2019 Legal Elite in three categories:  Consumer Products and Retail, Insurance, and Workers Compensation.

Community Events

• Attorneys and staff from the firm’s Tampa, FL office volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries to help provide a holiday experience that is out of reach for so many struggling families in the Tampa Bay area.
• Attorneys and staff from the firm’s Miami, FL and Atlanta, GA offices collected gifts for the Toys for Tots annual holiday toy drive..
• Attorneys and staff from the firm’s Deland, FL office made a cash donation, plus donated school supplies, bags of clothing/shoes and electronics to the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home..
• The firm’s St. Petersburg, FL office sponsored and participated in the Perilllo-Stafford Leukemia Foundation Golf Tournament.

Diversity & Inclusion

Vernis & Bowling was a Head Sponsor at the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association Gala. Carl Bober, Managing Attorney of the firm’s Broward/Hollywood, FL office was recognized at the Gala as one of the Past Presidents of the Association.

Vernis & Bowling was a 2019 sponsor of the Honorable Matthew J. Perry, Jr. Chapter of the National Black Law Students Association (MJP NBLSA) at the University of South Carolina School of Law. The NBLSA has a rich history of responding to the need for continued educational enrichment, professional development, and community involvement for black law students.
